Collection Reported As A Tradeline

I had a collection that was scheduled to no longer be reported as of 5/01/07 on experian. Cool. So I check my credit report today and it drops off of the Collections …. but loe and behold it shows up as an installment account instead on both by equifax and experian. Yet on transunion it is still a collection until 11/07. I am confused. I thought they go away never to raise their ugly heads again. How do I get these things to disappear?

Stump The Experts

Stump the Experts?  You must forgive me for my liberal use of the word expert.  Still – no matter how you slice and dice it – Dale and I do have a combined fifty-five years of experience in the mortgage biz and that means we’ve looked at a bazillion credit reports.  So if you have any questions about mortgages or credit reports then fire away

By the way, it’s so much easier to answer a question from a visitor that clicks on “Stump The Experts” than it is to create a new blog article from scratch.  This year, I’ve developed a whole new appreciation for the authors of blogs out there.  I’m mumbling Broken Credit blog articles in my sleep.  Credit repair mortgage repair credit repairing – excuse me.  See what I mean?

So I dare ya.  I double dare ya!

Collection Can Not Squat

I read some interesting articles you mention contacting creditors to get them to remove or delete charges after you pay.
My client trying to get a loan contacted one..they won’t let her pay because they said they sold the small 500.00 debt to another collection agency.
What can she do? how can she pay and get this removed when noone says they have the debt?
any ideas?

Credit card has been charged off and sold to a debt purchaser.  The credit card is reporting as an R9 status.  The debt purchaser (a/k/a factoring company) is also evident on the credit report.  And now the million-dollar question…
