Don’t let the Credit Bureaus sell your data
You may not be aware of the fact that the credit bureaus are profiting from the sale of your personal data. Attached is an article from the Washington Post titled “Credit Bureaus Share Your Loan Application” which describes this secret activity.
It’s big business and CRA’s are only getting away with this because people do not know that they can Opt-Out of these lists. Section 604(e) of the FCRA requires that any consumer reporting agency that provides prescreened lists to marketers shall maintain a notification system through which consumers may choose to have their names and addresses excluded from such lists.
Fortunately, you can Opt-Out by following the link at the bottom of this page and the credit bureaus can no longer sell your personal information for profit.
