Sloppy Credit Reporting
A person is a beneficiary of an estate, in which the real property is in forclosure. The beneficiary is included in the suit, but not liable on the debt instrument. Would this be reflected on his credit report; if so, how? And would it impact his credit score/rating?

Hello Robert,
The lis pendens names anyone who might have an interest in the property. It could end up on the credit report if a lazy credit bureau contractor didn’t know the difference between a lis pendens and a summary judgment; however, if it ever ended up on his credit report then it would be an error and have to be removed once challenged per the FCRA.
Thanks for the questions and hope this helps.
Paul
