Jim’s Credit Repair Comments, Ch#4
I got up early this morning because something happened yesterday that basically messed with my head most of the night. What was bothering me really isn’t important. I will go as far as to tell you it was credit related. It did concern somebody I personally took and interest in and was trying to help.
Paul and the people responsible for this web site have done an excellent job in providing good and useful information to help people with credit problems. In my research and my dealings with these types of issues Paul has been pretty much on the mark when it comes to his comments written on this web site.
There is (1) comment I am going to make regarding getting your credit into shape. If you have been reading anything I’ve been writing on this Blog then you already know I prefer a “HARD BALL” aproach to dealing with whatever issues I need to deal with. Paul on the other hand, in my opinion prefers to deal with matters in a more subtle approach. Being honest there are benefits to both.
In todays world you need good credit. Insurance companies run a credit check. Employers often times want to run your credit. Businesses such as cell phone providers and some utility companies want to do a credit check and if your credit is bad you know as well as I do that a deposit will be required.
There is (1) thing that I don’t recall seeing that Paul has not talked about. If he did I missed it and Paul I am sorry that I did.
What I am going to talk about is the other side of this coin. And that is when you get your credit back in shape.
Many of you visiting this web site will get your credit to a point where lenders will start looking at you seriously to lend you money. Most likely that will be in a form of a credit card. The sad thing about this is many of you that attain that goal will go right back out and run that credit card back up to it limit. And the cycle your in now will start all over again. If you want a credit card or think you need one that’s fine. However, don’t be a fool and do the same stupid things you did before to get you where you are now. I know there might be some of you that are reading this the situation your in might not be your fault. For example if you were married perhaps your husband left you and left you holding the bag on a bunch of debt.
All I am trying to say is when you get to a point where you start getting credit cards again use good sense when you do use them. Don’t allow yourself to be put back where your trying to dig your way out of now.
Think about it long and hard before you go into debt for that new car or new truck like your friends are driving. There is one thing worse than getting turned down for that new car or new truck loan. And that is getting up in the morning some morning and finding it gone because the repo man towed it away during the night because you were past due on your payments. You really want to think about that one.
I’m not going away from this Blog. Even though I think of myself as some what of an expert in these matters I have also learned a couple things from this Blog as well. I know if that’s true for me I know it certainly is for anybody reading this. Besides if I did leave and never came back Paul would miss me. Right Paul?
Seriously though. You can get your credit back into shape but it’s going to take some homework and time to get it there. Your credit didn’t get messed up over night and it’s going to take some time to get it back on track. And once you get it there remember what I said. When you get that credit card think about it before you pull it out of your wallet or purse to use it. The credit card company really can survive next month without your interest payment…
Not sure Paul. I think this is Chapter 4.
