Pay For Delete-athon

I just wanted to say that it’s not a thing of mine to keep seeing my name on this web site so much but I am so excited.

I just wrote you last evening about another issue and after writing to you I got my mail.  I usually get it much earlier in the day but yesterday was kind of hectic.

After writing to you and then after getting my mail I got a letter from another collection agency.  It was another accepted offer from the final collection agency on my credit report.  They accepted the offer of my pay for delete.  Again I would never have thought about doing this process had it not been for your fantastic web site that told me it was possible.

This last collection agency is willing to remove their information if I pay the full amount.  I’m okay with that because I do owe it.  The problem is the collection agency will be gone but the original creditor will be the only remaining ding on my credit.  My credit score should improve when this collection agency removes their information.  However the original creditor will still be there.

The debt with the original creditor has been written off.  I want to try and contact the original creditor and see if there is a way that I can possibly get this old account re-activate and start paying on it again.  Then maybe after a few months of paying on it like I was suppose to maybe they would do a re-aging?

Does this sound like something that is possible?  I know you can’t be asked to think about what somebody else might do or say but maybe in your years of experience you may have come across something like this.  And if not maybe you could suggest a way or two that I could approach the original creditor with this proposal.

Please help me on this.  All of the advice I have used I have gotten from this web site.  With that advise I have gotten removed several negative issues removed from my credit reports.  In fact all of them with the exception of this original creditor issue.  I know you won’t let me down here and will have some equally good advice for me.

God Bless you for the fantastic and helpful person that you are.

Jack

—————–

Hey Jack,

If a creditor has written an account off then it’s doubtful they would re-age the account.  The creditor would effectively have to pay taxes back to the IRS for reinstating the loan.  In Charlotte’s case, she was receiving monthly statements from the creditor and for this reason, this strategy was suggested.  In general, it’s doubtful the creditor would agree to renew a charged off loan.

What you’ve accomplished already is tremendous.  Make sure you store a file with all of the correspondence (including the envelopes) between these collection agencies in the event that you might have to revisit it down the road.

Thanks for the questions and spread the word!

Paul
