Private School Tuition

I had enrolled my child in private school for the upcoming school year. Due to financial circumstances (i.e. reduction in my work hrs) it has been necessary to withdraw my child from the school. HOwever the school is trying to hold me responsible for entire year tuition do I have any recourse?

Hi Lynn,

You’d have to look to your written contract with the school.  I would recommend that you review your contract first and if you find that you are liable, then it’s better to work something out with them now.  I’m sure they will be willing to discount a portion of it if you let them know your circumstances.

Thanks for the questions and hope this helps.
