If a collection agency has unlawfully re-aged an item, how can I fix it?

It is unlawful for a collection agency to re-age an account. You should send the CRA(s) a CMRRR letter advising of the re-aging. If that doesn’t solve the problem, then you can file a complaint with the FTC and there is a private right of action under the FCRA for s-2(b) violations.
