Suze Orman’s Credit Repair

After watching a recent Suze Orman show, she was speaking about a procedure that improves ones credit and I’m not sure how truthful it is.  She stated that if you have a family member sign you on as an authorized used to their card, whether they give you the card or not…as long as they make payments on time, this new acct/tradeline would report on the auth users credit report as well as the primary user thus improving the authorized users credit score and report.  Does this make sense and does it work?

Hello Brandon,

It would appear that in this instance, Suze Orman has given good advice.  The Authorized User strategy is something that the Broken Credit Blog highly recommends.

Family members are great, but friends and co-workers are also acceptable candidates for the Authorized User.

Thanks for the questions.

Paul
