Townes v. TransUnion Settlement
I feel like I am the only one in the dark here but you always answer everyone as honestly and fairly as possible everytime I have ever read any subject on here.I want to say you have a great approach to this and are helping so many more people than you realize.PLEASE NEVER STOP!:)
My question is:I signed up for the Townes vs. Transunion settlement and have yet to figure out where or how to access the free 6 months of my credit report that they were supposed to let us have as part of the settlement.I made the deadline months ago.
Can you help me?
Diane

Hi Diane,
It was only three months of credit monitoring and it appears they would have notified you by email. The Townes settlement provided:
“The Court approved 3 months of free TransUnion Credit Monitoring for Class Members at the Fairness Hearing on September 11, 2007. As the Court approved the Settlement at the Fairness Hearing, participating Class Members will receive, after the Effective Date, a benefit in the form of an electronic Benefit Code Notice via email. A Benefit Code is simply a number provided to you by email with a link to transunion.com or truelink.com where all you will have to do to receive your free TransUnion Credit Monitoring is complete the verification process and plug in the benefit code. You will not be asked or solicited to purchase anything. If your email changes, you must provide the Settlement Administrator with your updated email address, otherwise you may not receive the Benefit Code. You will be able to use this Benefit Code at the appropriate Defendants’ website in order to obtain your free TransUnion Credit Monitoring.”
Thanks for the questions and check your spam folder.
Paul
